Ken Mielke reports that WFO Great Falls, MT,
participated in "Bring Your Child to Work" Day April
25, 2002, and hosted several children at the office. The kids
participated in several interesting weather experiments and
short field trips to the radome and inflation shelter. Gina
Loss organized the event and devised the experiments, and
several staff members helped out. |

Roger Lamoni reports that WFO Reno Senior Service
Hydrologist, Gary Barbato, brought his 11-year-old daughter,
Helene, to the office for Take Your Child to Work Day. Helene
and a SKYWARN spotter got an office tour, learned about cooperative
observer reporting and learned how a radiosonde is released
in a balloon launch demonstration by new intern Larry Brown.
In addition, Helene helped call cooperative observers for
their afternoon data and helped enter the data for the afternoon
Regional Temperature and Precipitation Report (RTP). |
